Out for Youth is BAGLY, Inc's primary annual fundraiser to raise money BAGLY Inc.'s host of programs that serve LGBTQ youth through its network of youth-led, adult-supported drop-in programs in Massachusetts. BAGLY, Inc. works with LGBTQ youth across Massachusetts -- and beyond!  Through leadership development, health promotion & services, social support, events, and the statewide GLBT Youth Group Network, BAGLY is at work in our communities to support LGBTQ youth.

At BAGLY, we believe...

BAGLY, Inc. is what we, its youth, drive it to be. We believe in creating safe space, BAGLY’s values of Respect, Diversity, Social Justice, and Youth Leadership, feeling safe, having fun, equal access to public accomodations, employment and credit for transgender and gender variant people, building a strong, youth-led, social justice community, conflict resolution, change, healthy relationships, being sex positive, sexual freedom, health education, being yourself, being fabulous, girls with curves, adult support, condoms, love, educational freedom, safer sex, harm reduction, peace, feeling like you matter, and personal growth.

It's Time BAGLY Gets Back to the Future: Time to Resist, Exist, and Persist!

This year's theme celebrates BAGLY, Inc.'s original founding principles and will engage key stakeholders in continuing to ensure that youth from all backgrounds and walks of life can thrive regardless or their race, ability, socioeconomic status, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation.

Raffi Freedman-Gurspan is the Director of External Relations at the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE), where she oversees public education and field organizing operations. She was the first openly transgender staffer to work at the White House where her duties included serving as LGBT Liaison. She was employed at NCTE prior as Policy Advisor for the Racial and Economic Justice Initiative; Legislative Director to former Representative Carl Sciortino in the Massachusetts House of Representatives; and LGBT Liaison for the City of Somerville. Raffi has also worked with the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition and Boston University in gender research work.

The New England Ballroom Collective

Boston’s House and Ball scene consists of a dynamic group of individuals who are students, youth workers, health care providers and activists by day and Runway Walkers by night. Historically, Balls are organized by members of local chapter Houses, but in 2009, BAGLY and The New England Ballroom Collective (NEBC) united multiple Houses to be represented by one organized collective.  The New England Houses that participate in the NEBC often collaborate to ensure that LGBTQ Youth of Color feel supported and valued, by organizing multiple events throughout the year.
